GeoTours are a series of geocaches that showcase a specific area, amazing location, or a historical event.  GeoTours are officially supported by Geocaching HQ and are given prominent exposure at Geocaching.com.  GeoTours are usually created by tourist bureaus, park management, or a city government.  The creator of a GeoTour pays a fee to have Geocaching.com market the tour.

GeoTrails are a series of geocaches that showcase a specific area, amazing location, or a historical event but is NOT officially supported by Geocaching HQ.  These caches are placed by cache owners who are entirely responsible for marketing the trail.

If you know of an active GeoTour or GeoTrail that is missing from this list, then please let us know so that we can add it to the South Atlantic Region GeoTours and GeoTrails listing.  You can email us with the GeoTrail information here.
